Activate your Asana…Midtown now offers fun & free yoga classes & First Friday Flow events

In partnership with Yoga Moves Us, the Midtown Association is pleased to present free MiYo yoga classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings now underway at Fremont Park (1515 Q Street) and free First Friday Flow yoga events on the first Friday of each month (starting on May 4) on the exterior grounds of Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park (corner of 26th & L). All of these new yoga offerings are scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. on the dates offered through September 2018.

California State Parks, Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park (SHP) and Friends of Sutter’s Fort are proud to present a vibrant, educational and fun three-day event – Shop Traders’ Faire – on Friday, April 20 through Sunday, April 22, 2018. Offered just once a year, this lively and highly anticipated interpretive event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Midtown guests will enjoy viewing art exhibits, participating in hands-on activities, meeting local artists, sampling food and wine, listening to live music and more.

Open gardens and rose sale

Open gardens and rose sale

On Saturday, April 14th, from 9:30a-2:00p, the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery will hold its annual Open Gardens event, featuring the sale of over 500 rose plants propagated from our rare and historic rose collection. There will be tours of the Historic Rose Garden (at 10:00a and 12:30p), a history tour (at 11:00a), a silent auction, and sale of rose-related merchandise. The Historic Rose Garden, winner of multiple international awards, will be at peak bloom. Visitors will be surrounded by fragrant roses set amidst our lovely Gold Rush garden cemetery. The combination is not to be missed! On Sunday, April 15, the rose sale continues from 11:00a-1:00p (no tours will be given). Details are at cemeteryrose.org. Proudly led by Viewpoint Photographic Art Center – a non-profit organization located in Midtown Sacramento – in collaboration with many partners including the City of Sacramento, the community’s first-ever Photography Month Sacramento is scheduled for the entire month of April. With more than 60 events, activities and exhibits scheduled thus far (and counting!), Photography Month Sacramento is designed to celebrate the visual arts while creating an accessible and visually-exciting collective experience that brings people together.
