Davis author writes of life as a peach farmer's daughter

First-time author Brenda Nakamoto of Davis writes movingly of her father, a longtime peach grower in Gridley who, though blind and partially deaf in his final years, could still imagine the smell and feel of the earth he once lovingly nurtured.

Nakamoto's new book, Peach Farmer's Daughter, is a collection of stories about her father and mother, Harold and Masako Nakamoto, their peach farm in Gridley and her own search for purpose and identity as a Sansei, third-generation Japanese American. She has several readings scheduled in Sacramento and Davis.
