The Magical Holiday Tradition Continues in Old Sacramento with 7th Annual “Macy’s Theatre of Lights"

Known as a magical, electrifying and family-friendly holiday tradition in Old Sacramento, the ever-popular and FREE “Macy’s Theatre of Lights” performances return on Wednesday evening, November 25, 2015, and continue through New Year’s Eve.   In addition to Macy’s, the spectacular annual event is also proudly presented by the Downtown Sacramento Partnership (DSP) in cooperation with Downtown Commons, the City of Sacramento Department of Convention and Cultural Services, the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau, Embassy Suites, Evangeline’s and Old Sacramento merchants and small business owners.

Rarely-Seen Historic Treasures on Display for “Sacramento Archives Crawl” on 10/3!

In celebration of National Archives Month, archives and special collections libraries from throughout the region will showcase their rarely-seen holdings during the 5th annual Sacramento Archives Crawl on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Free and open to the public, the theme for the event this year is Powered by the Past.  Showcasing historic treasures from 23 Northern California institutions, special artifacts will be on public display for one-day-only at four host locations, including the California State Archives, the California State Library, the Center for Sacramento History, and the Sacramento Public Library.

Help Community Business Bank Give Away $10,000 to Benefit Local Non-Profit

There’s no fancy party planned to celebrate Community Business Bank’s 10th anniversary. Instead, the West Sacramento-headquartered community bank plans to give away $10,000 to one lucky not-for-profit making a difference in Sacramento, Yolo, San Joaquin or Solano counties.

“For the past decade, it’s been our honor to help meet the needs of small businesses and not-for-profits in our communities,” said John DiMichele, CEO, Community Business Bank. “Our $10,000 give away contest is the perfect opportunity to express our gratitude to a local not-for-profit that is working hard every day to help those in need.” In addition to the cash prize, the winner will receive a full-page ad in thePartners in Philanthropyedition of the Sacramento Business Journal.
