The community is invited to visit, stay and play in Midtown Sacramento from morning until night on Saturday, October 28, 2017, to enjoy a wide variety of Halloween-related experiences sure to entertain individuals, families and four-footed friends alike.  A sampling of the spirited activities happening that day include the following:

Midtown Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on 20th at J & K Streets
In addition to a bounty of harvest and farm-fresh fruits, vegetables and other gourmet edibles available, Halloween-related activities will be on the menu at the Midtown Farmers Market on this special day. Shoppers are encouraged to come in costume and children of all ages are invited to take part in a fun and free mini pumpkin scavenger hunt throughout the market plus pick up a free temporary tattoo decal. Midtown Trick-or-Treat from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Participating Businesses on 23rd-25th & J-K Streets
Kids in costume are encouraged to stop by participating Midtown businesses that will offer free treats while supplies last (flyers will be posted on the windows of participating businesses and be handed out with locations and addresses listed). Plus, there will a fun raffle contest with prizes provided by participating Midtown businesses along with a series of special activities happening at Relles Florist (2400 J Street) that include a pumpkin patch, mini pumpkin and gourds decorating and even a special Halloween Design Class from 10 to 11:30 a.m. To register in advance for the Design Class, please visit https://rellesflorist.com/sacramento-florist/products/productDetails?prod_id=32382
 
Midtown Halloween Festival & Pooch Parade from 1 to 3 p.m. at Marshall Park (915 27th Street)
Sponsored by the Sutter District, the community is invited to this canine and family-friendly event where four-legged friends strut by while competing in an entertaining costume contest. The playful Midtown Mascot will be on-site as will the ever-popular mobile off-leash “Pop-Up Dog Park” to encourage canine-friendly communication.  Along with entertaining live music from The Hoots, a variety of hands-on activities for kids will be available that include face painting by Fancy Figments, a Pirate-themed bounce house, and arts and crafts. 10th Annual Halloween Pub Crawl 2017 from 4 to 11 p.m.
Spirited adults – in costume or not -- are invited to “crawl” through Midtown enjoying food and drink specials at participating watering holes during the 10h Annual Halloween Pub Crawl presented by Xoso Sport & Social League. Plus, interested crawlers can participate in a costume contest that is sure to provide some visual chills and thrills. The Haunted Fort from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park (2701 L Street)
Friends of Sutter’s Fort, in partnership with California State Parks and B Street Theatre Company, are proud to present “The Haunted Fort.” On this final evening of The Haunted Fort, guests will have the special opportunity to explore the dimly-lit Fort at night at their own pace, interact with knowledgeable docents in period attire (who will share scary, spooky and sometimes disturbing details of pioneer life in the 1800s), participate in fun and interactive stations, and also be entertained by a number of talented performers from B Street Theatre Company who will perform short and spirited vignettes in the Fort’s Distillery room.
