Residents have chance to experience re-enactment of 1906 Earthquake

With a renewed focus on their devastating power, major earthquakes are a timely topic throughout the world today. And now, as part of an annual program, the California State Capitol Museum invites the local community to step back in time to experience a re-enactment of California's 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and Fire.

Don't miss the special opportunity to revisit the moving experience and learn from the past.

Pet owners get financial break

Sacramento and Yolo County pet owners can now apply to have their pets spayed or neutered for just $20 per dog and $15 per cat as part of “Spay Day Sacramento” on March 6.  This is a savings of 90 percent or more on this routine, but important veterinary procedure.  Spaying or neutering dogs and cats leads to better health and improved behavior and reduces the number of animals entering area shelters.

Qualifying pet owners must be either Sacramento or Yolo County residents and have an annual household income of $35,000 or less.  There is a 2 animal (dog and/or cat) limit per household.  Proof of income will be required.

"A Midsummer Night's Dream: Fairies & Fools!"

Fairytale Town  is proud to present SHAKESPERIMENT 2011, a new extension of their popular and successful Fairytale Town Troupers program. The first production will be a brand new one act adaptation of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream: Fairies & Fools!",  featuring young actors ages 12 to 21.

This innovative and original production focuses on the disharmony between the King and Queen of Fairyland and a group of bumbling actors who unwittingly cross their paths. It's a fun and family friendly romp filled with music, magic, mirth and mayhem.
