The Firehouse recognized by wine enthusiast as one of America’s 100 Best Wine Restaurants

Known for its commitment to quality and offering unparalleled dining experiences, The Firehouse is proud to announce, for the second consecutive year, it has been recognized by Wine Enthusiast magazine as one of America’s 100 Best Wine Restaurants in 2018. The Firehouse is the only Sacramento area restaurant included on this prestigious list and joins other world-famous fine dining establishments such as Supra in Washington D.C. and the Four Horsemen in New York.

“We are thrilled and honored to be recognized as one of America’s very best wine restaurants for the second year in a row,” said Lloyd Harvego, owner of The Firehouse. “Our dedicated culinary team continues to raise the bar with the magnificent and impeccable food and dining experiences we offer to our valued guests. And we look forward to welcoming even more dining enthusiasts to discover what makes The Firehouse perfect for special occasions or for making any day special.”

The Wine Enthusiast judges highlighted how the menu items at The Firehouse are expertly designed to showcase the range of the impressive wine collection. The menu at The Firehouse was crafted by Chef Jay Veregge, Director of Culinary Operations, with creative collaboration provided by his talented culinary team. In addition to amazing food and desserts, The Firehouse has earned a world-renowned reputation for a wine vault that is home to a coveted collection of very rare Californian and European wines as well as current labels and varietals. Carefully selected by Wine Director, General Manager & Sommelier Mario Ortiz, The Firehouse continues to offer Northern California’s most extensive wine vault with an impressive 2,000 selections and more than 13,000 bottles.

In addition to this latest recognition by Wine Enthusiast magazine, The Firehouse was also recently honored with a “Best of Award of Excellence” by Wine Spectator for the 17th consecutive year.

Since it first opened in 1960, The Firehouse has been recognized as the Sacramento region’s premier fine dining restaurant and has earned its permanent place as one of Northern California’s top dining establishments. With a food focus of Refined Contemporary American in style, the award-winning restaurant sources ingredients locally, embraces seasonality and infuses subtle flavors and textures to add a simple complexity to virtually every dish.

In addition to the expertly crafted lunch and dinner menus along with special Chef Tasting menus, The Firehouse is proud to present a Wine & Sparkling Wine Tasting Event on Tuesday evening, July 24, 2018.  For this special tasting event – that will take place in The Courtyard under the canopy of summer foliage – representatives from DAOU Winery and PIPER SONOMA Vineyard will pour some of their favorite selections paired with appetizers prepared by the talented culinary team at The Firehouse. Limited tasting event tickets are available (for guests ages 21 and over) for $39 per person at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/wine-and-sparkling-wine-tasting-event-tickets-46550509828.
