Mild, sunny weather makes for crowds at State Fair

SACRAMENTO, CA - The gorgeous weekend weather has been perfect for a visit to the California State Fair at Cal Expo. Thousands of people enjoyed the mild summer weather, eating fair food, having fun on the rides and taking in the live entertainment.

Mandy Herrigan, of Galt, loved the bungee jump attraction that sent her high in the air, then crashing down. "Oh my gosh, it was so fun! I would do it again."

Desiree Newman spent the day with her family. "We came up for the day to just hang out and have a good time. We had some good mother, daughter time and got to hang out with the family. Fair time is always fun time."

Sunday was the fourth day since the fair's opening day.

Soul line dancers boogie down for weight loss and better health

Soul line dancers boogie down for weight loss and better health

SACRAMENTO, CA - People are running to find a spot on the floor at Tina Baltimore's soul line dancing classes.  "I just want people to get up and get moving," Baltimore declared.

Two years ago the 54-year-old state worker who does vendor assessments for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) was invited to join the American Heart Association as an ambassador.  "I have a lot of friends and relatives dealing with high blood pressure and diabetes. I was worried about some of that stuff happening to me so I would go out and talk to people about exercising and healthier lifestyles," Baltimore explained.  "It got me to thinking about what I could do and I thought I could teach dancing."

She started having "slide dancing" classes at the Capitol City Elks Lodge.
