Sutter Surgical Hospital-North Valley (SSH-NV) today announced it has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Joint Replacement for Hip and for Knee. Certification is for Joint Commission-accredited hospitals, critical access hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers seeking to elevate the quality, consistency and safety of their services and patient care.

“We are very happy to receive certification from The Joint Commission, the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation,” said Dennis Sindelar, Chief Administrative Officer for Sutter Surgical Hospital North Valley. “We feel this validates the work we do to provide our patients with safe, quality care as they receive joint replacement services.” Read more.

SSH-NV underwent a rigorous onsite review. Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with disease-specific care standards and hip and knee replacement requirements, including orthopedic consultation, and pre-operative, intraoperative and post-surgical orthopedic surgeon follow-up care.
