A community march in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. will begin at two locations Monday morning in Sacramento and end at the downtown Convention Center. 

The Sacramento Police Department advises drivers take alternate routes, as traffic will likely be impacted by the march. 


NORTH SACRAMENTO

A meetup location starts at Grant High School, 1400 Grand Avenue, at 8:45 a.m. and then heads to the Convention Center. 

PLANNED ROUTE:

  • East on Grand Avenue to Marysville Boulevard
  • South on Marysville Boulevard which turns into Del Paso Boulevard
  • Continue South onto Highway 160
  • Highway 160 turns into12th Street
  • Eastbound on L Street  
  • North on 13th Street to the Sacramento Convention Center


OAK PARK / SOUTH SACRAMENTO

A route starting at the Oak Park Community Center, at 3425 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard begins 8:30 a.m. and marches to another meetup location at Sacramento City College, 3835 Freeport Boulevard, before heading to the Center. 

PLANNED ROUTE:

  • South on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard
  • West on 14th Avenue/Sutterville Road
  • Sutterville Road to Freeport Boulevard
  • West on 13th Avenue to north Land Park Drive
  • West on Broadway to Northbound 10th Street
  • East on L Street
  • North on 13th Street to the Sacramento Convention Center
