Vanderpump Rules! Reality star drives 7 hours to adopt Sacramento dog


Reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump adopted a dog from Sacramento SPCA.

It appears to have started with a clever tweet from the Sacramento SPCA.

Vanderpump is well-known for her partner in crime Giggy, a dog with alopecia.

Alopecia is when there’s partial or complete absence of hair from areas of the body where it normally grows.

Vanderpump tweeted on Saturday she drove seven hours, from LA and back, to pick up the little guy.


Firefighters save driver from car impaled by metal poles

The Sacramento Fire Department responded to an accident early Saturday morning that left a car impaled with metal poles and the driver trapped inside.

The accident happened at 10th and O street at around 2:30 a.m. Police said they were able to get the driver out of the car with stabilization jacks. The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Oak Park man attacked by three men and a dog on New Year's Eve



An Oak Park man is in the hospital tonight after police say he was assaulted by three men and then attacked by at least one of their dogs.

Man driving while drinking beer arrested for DUI

A man was arrested and booked for driving under the influence after police received reports he was drinking while drinking a beer.

Police said 51-year-old Antonio Enriquez from Mexico was drinking a beer while driving in the 3200 block of Pamela Avenue on Friday night.

After failing several sobriety tests, police said Enriquez was over the legal limit for driving and arrested.

Two charged for the Sacramento City College shooting



Two men have been charged for the September shooting at Sacramento City College that left one man dead.

The Sacramento Police Department tweeted out 19-year-old Tevita Kaihea and 19-year-old Charlie Hola were charged on Tuesday afternoon and charged with attempted murder, discharge of a firearm with great bodily injury, participating in a criminal street gang and vehicle theft.

Sacramento officers help restore man's stolen wheelchair ramp

ID=78112840SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A north Sacramento man was struggling to simply leave his home after thieves stole his aluminum wheelchair ramp from his front yard. The theft report fell into the right hands, and now the group Sacramento Police Cares has arranged for a replacement to be installed this weekend.

"It broke my heart," said Steven Southworth.

Southworth said when thieves stole the ramp, they took his livelihood with them.

"I was devastated," he said. "I am trapped. I'm in a cage." The theft has forced Southworth to rely on old, wood, shaky steps, and two different wheel chairs.
