Sacramento County Animal Shelter presents "Kitty Palooza"

The 5th annual "Kitty Palooza" feline adopt-a-thon will be hosted by the Sacramento County Animal Shelter on Sat., Aug. 6 and Sun., Aug. 7 from noon to 4:30 p.m. at 3839 Bradshaw Road in Sacramento.

An abundance of cats and kittens are available in all colors and sizes ready to become someone's new best friend at a reduced rate of $40 for kittens and $15 for cats more than one year of age.

"This is the time of year when our shelter is over-filled with cats and kittens desperately needing good homes. Our annual Kitty Palooza event has proven to be one of our most successful in saving lives by uniting loving adopters with the perfect adorable kitten or beautiful adult cat to add to their family," said Dave Dickinson, Interim Director of Animal Care and Regulation. "Plus, we add education for new owners and special incentives to each adoption. We want to make a perfect match."

All cats and kittens available for adoption will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, receive a microchip ID, voucher for a free vet exam, and come with a one-year animal license for Sacramento County adopters. This free event will also feature special "Kitty Starter Kits" for adopters, pet care information, and prize drawings. Volunteers and Animal Care staff will be on hand to help potential new owners find the perfect cat or kitten to take home.
