River Cats open 2012 playoffs Wednesday night at Raley Field

River Cats righty Bruce Billings (7-6, 3.98 ERA) will take on the Reno Aces’ Trevor Bauer (5-1, 2.85 ERA) in Wednesday’s 7:05 p.m. postseason opener at Raley Field, as Sacramento begins its 11th playoff run in 13 seasons. The Cats have won four Pacific Coast League titles and two Triple-A National Championships since coming to the River City in 2000.

Sacramento recently clinched its record sixth-straight division title, a feat unmatched in the 110-year history of the Pacific Coast League. Since the turn of the century, no other professional sports franchise has won as many division titles as the River Cats.

The Cats will open the first round of the playoffs at Raley Field on Wednesday, Sept. 5 and Thursday, Sept. 6 with 7:05 p.m. start times.

Sacramento Suns bring the first ever Australian Rules Football Tournament to the Sacramento region! 

Participating teams include the Sacramento Suns (men & women), Denver Bulldogs, Golden Gate Roos, Las Vegas Gamblers and the San Francisco Iron Maidens.

Australian Rules Football, also known as “Aussie Rules” or “Footy”, is a full-contact sport played without helmets or pads.  It is not rugby, soccer or any other sport.  Players kick or handball the ball (also known as footy) towards the goal to score.  It is the most popular sport in Australia, dating back 150 years.  Aussie Rules is the third largest spectator sport in the world.

This is a free event and opens to the public!

Harley-Davidson of Sacramento proudly presents the 19th Annual Sacramento Law Enforcement Memorial Run. 

This year thousands of anticipated riders will ride from the Police and Sheriff Memorial riding along the river and roaring into the City of Isleton.

This event continues to grow as the third largest ride in Northern California, with thousands of riders coming from as far away as Arizona, Nevada, and Washington.

The run has become the primary fundraising event to enable Law Enforcement Chaplaincy-Sacramento to respond and serve our law enforcement families and community members.
