Photo Gallery | Annual "Catch a Falling Star Gala" 2012

Alternative Pregnancy Center (APC) hosted its Annual Gala for Life Event, themed “Catch a Falling Star,” September 28, 2012 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Sacramento.

As guests arrived, they were greeted with photos that eloquently told the story of the mission of APC ~ “Compassionate care to those making significant life choices” ~

The evening ensued with a welcome reception with live music, wine tasting, hors d’ourves, a live auction, dinner and that which touched the hearts of all guests ~ a glimpse into the incredible, life-changing ministries of APC for the 600 guests who attended.

As the evening unfolded, the hearts of 600 guests were filled with a life touching scenario which will be long-remembered.  An evening presentation, “Changing Hearts” created and staged by Oak Hills Church Drama Team, Folsom brought into focus how APC touches the lives of those who face decisions that will live for a life-time, deep within the heart.  The audience, for a brief few minutes was invited into the life of a young woman who could represent women in all walks of life who were facing an unintended pregnancy.  Although this was a script, one could feel the pain, the fright and confusion of a woman facing the uncertainties of bringing a new life into the world.

APC offers ‘great compassionate care to one making a significant life choice.’  APC believes women and men ‘have a right to get accurate information from a resource that will not profit from the choices they make.’  The young woman in this skit was shown love, acceptance, from choices they make.’  The young woman in this skit was shown love, acceptance, caring, and above-all, no judgement of the decision she, herself, would make.

Thanks to the many contributors this evening, money raised reached $100,000.00.  As APC offers a free service to all clients, from consultations, counselling services, pre and post choices affecting the lives of their clients, laboratory and ultrasonic examinations and evaluations, the costs without donations such as received from ‘Catch a Falling Star Gala,’ would be prohibitive to serving our community with these free services to all.   These monies will be allocated to facilitating the clinic (Sacramento and Folsom) open to all who seek this service.

Presently, one great goal of APC includes offering a ‘clinic on wheels,’ a medical mobile unit to our community which will offer, free of charge, pregnancy tests as well as free ultrasounds. Staffing includes Medical Director Dr. Vansen Wong, OB/GYN, Nurse Manager and Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers).

The blessings of this evening are bestowed upon us all, as APC could one day touch you, your family, your friend.  riend.  APC brings hope for life and in one way or another, touches us all.  If you or someone you know faced with an unintended pregnancy, APC offers a ‘safe, confidential environment to explore all the options. Information on adoption, abortion and  parenting is provided, as well as free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds through our caring  medical and counselling staff.  We do not provide or refer for abortions.’

“Alternatives Pregnancy Center is a non-profit State of California licensed medical clinic and pregnancy resource center.  We are committed to providing women and men with accurate up-to-date information in order to make informed decisions about pregnancy, sexual health, parenting and relationships.  Because everyone should have access to this information, all of our services are confidential and free of charge.”  Source:  APC Website.
