Sacramento Police Department DUI Enforcement Team presented awards in recognition of outstanding, endless dedication, commitment and service to three organizations within our community who are dedicated in supporting our officers as they uphold their commitment to serve and protect drivers, passengers and pedestrians on our roadways from drunk driving crashes! 

Special recognition awards were presented by Sergeant Chris Prince, Metro-DUI Enforcement Team, Sacramento Police Department honoring:

Sacramento Law Enforcement Chaplains of Law Enforcement Chaplaincy-Sacramento, presented to Senior Chaplain Mindi Russell, Executive Director and Deputy Senior Chaplain Frank Russell.

Sacramento MADD, presented to Becky Wood and Judy Utter.

Sacramento Police Department VIPS, presented to Penn Yee and Wilkie Liang. 

Guest speaker, Chelsie Hill, told her story of having suffered a paralyzing injury in an alcohol-related auto crash, February 2010.   She and her father, Jon, have founded  Walk and Roll Foundation, "dedicated to improving the quality of life for persons affected by spinal cord injuries."  

Also in attendance was Jill Mason, a young woman who was rendered paralyzed with a traumatic brain injury sustained while training for a triathlon.  A drunk driver on an Easter Sunday hit her while she was riding her bicycle.
